You will apply to a specific province to be nominated under a specific program. That specific province will process your application and if you are nominated by that province, you are able to apply for a work permit and permanent residence to Canada to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). You may need to apply using the paper-based process, or via the online process via Express Entry.
Either you apply on paper and online via Express entry, you must:
- Meet the eligibility requirements of the province or territory; and
- Submit an Express Entry profile and meet the minimum criteria for Express Entry, including being eligible for one of the immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skill Trade Program.
